While the repeater nodes that allow you to add repetition patterns to layer have been around for a long time I’ve now added some new and improved visual tools for easily adding them. You can still just add a repeater node to the layer yourself if you prefer, but now there’s also the option to use a tool for each repeater type and just click and drag out in the main view port to add the initial repeater pattern.
This makes it very easy to quickly set up multi-level repetitions on layers, and edit them all together using the repeater editor tool.
Changes and improvements
UI/UX
- When adding repeater nodes to scaled / rotated layers this rotation/scale is now added as an automatic new transform node before the new repeater node to get the expected transform.
- Repeaters and other tools/nodes have now got labels on their handles in the main view when you hover them, giving you a hint which handle does what in complex multi-level repetitions.
Tools
- New separate tools for each repeater type that lets you click and drag to add a repeater pattern to a selected layer, dragging out the new offsets.
- New fold-out tool buttons to fit more secondary tools in the tool panel (like the different types of shapes and different types of repeaters)
